I am directed by Mr. Lee Chamberlain to request you to inform the Lords of the Treasury that he has had under his consideration the question of demonetizing the Japanese Yen in the Straits Settlements, in view of recent currency legislation of Japan.
It appears that under the new Japanese Law, the silver yen may eventually cease to circulate in Japan as even a token coin. If the supply...
